Former Parkside Colliery, Winwick Road, Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, WA12 8DB
Langtree and St Helens Borough Council have come together, as Parkside Regeneration LLP, to regenerate the former Parkside Colliery in Newton-le-Willows.
Our unique joint venture combines an outstanding commercial track record with a genuine commitment to maximising the social and economic gains for local people from this transformative project.
Jobs, investment, rateable income, training contracts, work placements and a commitment to using as many local suppliers as possible will deliver a step-change in our local economy and local communities.
Our focus is on attracting blue chip companies that offer the very best training, terms and career prospects to deliver long-term change and improvement. All housed in a development that sets the bar for sustainable design and construction.
Parkside benefits from a strategic location adjacent to the M6 and M62 motorways, serving the large conurbations of the north west and midlands. It is also a critical asset in the Liverpool City Region Freeport.
Parkside will benefit from its own link road – now under construction – to Junction 22 of the M6 motorway, putting the site within half an hour’s drive more from more than 5 million people. 13 million people live within an hour’s journey time, making it a perfect hub for national and international logistics operators.
Parkside Phase One has consent for up to 1m square feet of employment space alongside new public amenity space such as woodland walks, a heritage trail, exercise infrastructure and tree planting.
A reserved matters planning application has been submitted for Units A, B and C for c. 793,200 sq ft of logistics space. The first phase of speculative development consists of Units A and B comprising 367,700 and 198,100 sq ft respectively.
Phase 2 opportunities of up to 1.6million sq ft with the ability to accommodate a single building of up to 950,000 sq ft with a focus on advance manufacturing, industrial and logistics sectors.
