With the property sector responsible for 38% of energy related carbon emissions, as a property developer and asset manager we recognise the important role we play in reducing our carbon and wider emissions footprint.
We are committed to ensuring we develop properties with carbon reductions embedded throughout the design and investing in energy efficiency measures across our entire portfolio.
The Langtree team has a strong history of working on environmental developments achieving BREEAM Excellent standards dating back to 2010. Since then, we have developed several BREEAM Excellent properties with others in the pipeline also on track to achieve the same standard.
Langtree is currently assessing and undertaking retrofit projects across several of our properties to improve their energy performance through various insulation and energy efficiency investments totalling several million. We are expecting to see reductions of up to 20% in the operational energy intensity.
We have invested in building a significant renewable energy generation capacity across our sites with 1,100m2 of solar panels of which generated 126,000kwh over the last year. A wider rollout of solar panels is planned for 2024 across our existing properties and new developments.
For all of the additional electric consumed beyond what we generate across our sites, we purchase green electricity tariffs.
To support green travel initiatives, we have implemented comprehensive green travel plans for our occupiers and colleagues. This includes alternatives such as:
As the owner and asset manager we have worked to facilitate the improvement of our clients EPC ratings, with over 50% of EPC’s improving over the last three years.
We aim to achieve BREEAM Excellent ratings for each new development.
To support the continued rollout of green travel initiatives for occupants across the sites we own and manage.
We will continue investing in energy efficiency measures across our entire portfolio.
To strategically advise and support our clients in retrofitting and refurbishing properties to increase their energy efficiency.
